Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using RenalDose.

1. Service Description

RenalDose is a session-only renal dosing reference calculator designed to assist licensed healthcare professionals with renal function estimates and medication adjustment workflows. RenalDose provides reference calculations and dosing guidance without functioning as a recordkeeping system.

RenalDose is independently operated by Ahmed Fouad from Doha, Qatar.

RenalDose is not a substitute for professional judgment. All dosing recommendations generated by RenalDose are intended as reference information only. Healthcare providers must independently verify all recommendations before applying them in practice.

2. Account Terms

To access certain features of RenalDose, you may be required to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be a licensed or credentialed healthcare professional, a healthcare student under supervision, or an individual authorized by your institution to use professional clinical reference tools. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.

3. Subscription & Billing

3.1 Free Tier

RenalDose offers a free tier that provides access to core renal dosing calculations and renal function estimators. The free tier may have limitations on certain advanced features.

3.2 Pro Tier

The RenalDose Pro subscription is available at $9.99 per month. Pro features currently include PDF calculation report exports and priority support.

3.3 Payment

Subscription billing for RenalDose Pro is handled through PayPal. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges of $9.99 USD to your selected payment method until you cancel your subscription.

3.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your RenalDose account or by contacting support if you lose access to your account. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period when PayPal provides a remaining access date. No partial refunds are issued for the remaining days of a billing cycle. Please refer to our Refund Policy for details on refund eligibility.

4. Acceptable Use

RenalDose is intended for use by healthcare professionals in clinical practice, education, and research settings. You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other accounts, or computer systems.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the service without prior written permission.
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the service or its content.
  • Misrepresent the output of RenalDose as definitive instructions or advice for patients or other parties.
  • Upload or transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of RenalDose, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, algorithms, software, and the compilation thereof, are the exclusive property of RenalDose and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The drug dosing data, clinical algorithms, and interface design are proprietary. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without express written permission.

6. User Data

Your use of RenalDose is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

RenalDose is designed for transient calculation inputs only and does not support server-side storage of calculation inputs. You agree not to enter patient identifiers or protected health information into the service.

7. Limitation of Liability

RenalDose is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • RenalDose makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of the dosing recommendations or calculations.
  • RenalDose shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service.
  • RenalDose provides reference calculations, not definitive clinical decisions. The treating healthcare professional bears full responsibility for all clinical decisions made in practice.
  • In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to RenalDose in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

You acknowledge that medication dosing in renal impairment is complex and that clinical outcomes depend on numerous factors beyond the scope of any calculation tool.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to RenalDose at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service.
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
  • Non-payment of subscription fees.
  • Extended period of inactivity.

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. Any provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or an in-app notification.

Your continued use of RenalDose after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must discontinue use of the service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
